STCW certificates and specialist training for maritime professionals.
We offer a wide range of specialist courses conducted in accordance with the STCW Convention requirements. All training is delivered by experienced instructors using modern simulators and the educational facilities of Gdynia Maritime University.
Engine Room Management
The course covers human resource management and crew training, with 30 hours of lectures and simulators, meeting STCW requirements.
Deck Department – International Navigation Senior Officer (Chief Officer) – Short Programme
A course designed for maritime university graduates whose diploma validity has expired after 7 years, preparing them for the senior deck officer exam in international navigation.
Radar Operation Course for Sailors
Intensive three‑day radar operation course for sailors, combining theory with hands‑on practice on board.
Re‑training for Vessels Operating in Polar Waters – Basic Level
Basic course preparing participants for operating vessels in polar waters.
IGF Code Training – Advanced Level
Professional maritime training: IGF Code Training – Advanced Level. Conducted at the Maritime Training Centre of Gdynia Maritime University with modern simulators and experienced instructors.
Management Level Training in the Engine Department – Mechanical Specialty for Ships ≥3000 kW – Senior Marine Engineer Diploma
Course preparing for the Senior Marine Engineer diploma on ships of 3000 kW and above, covering engine department management.
Engine Department – International Navigation – Second Engineer (2/E) – Short Programme
Course intended for maritime university graduates whose 7‑year diploma validity has expired, comprising 253 training hours and preparing for the Second Engineer (2/E) exam in international navigation.
Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) – Electronic Maps (Generic)
The course introduces the operation and use of basic types of electronic chart systems (ECDIS), including lectures, practical exercises and simulator sessions.
Individual Survival Techniques – Refresher (ITR)
One‑day refresher course for Individual Survival Techniques (ITR) – theory and practice in Gdynia.
Didactic Course for IMO 6.09 Instructor
Didactic course preparing instructors to conduct training according to the IMO 6.09 model – a total of 66 hours of lectures and exercises.

Course dedicated to handling large vessels and vessels with unusual maneuvering characteristics.
Nautical Ship Handling (Bridge Team Management)
Course enhancing ship handling and bridge team management skills, comprising 40 hours of training and simulations.
Nautical Ship Command (Bridge Team Management) – Diploma
One‑day, 8‑hour course improving ship command and bridge team leadership. Requires a Bridge Team Resource certificate.
Nautical Ship Handling – Bridge Team Resource
Course enhancing ship handling and bridge team management skills, 32 hours long.
Operational Level in the Deck Department in International Shipping – Watch Officer Training
Course preparing for the Watch Officer certificate on vessels of 500 GT and above, covering required operational knowledge and practice.
Conducting Cargo and Ballast Operations on LPG Tankers Using the LCHS Simulator – IMO 1.35
Course for crew and beginners, featuring a lecture and 30 h of LCHS simulator training on cargo and ballast operations on LPG tankers.

Training in Cargo and Ballast Operations on LNG Tankers Using LCHS Simulator – IMO 1.36
The training includes a lecture and 35 hours of exercises on the LCHS simulator, intended for crew members and persons without LNG operation experience.

Course preparing for the Ship Electro‑Automation Officer diploma, comprising 793 teaching hours over 24 weeks.
Operational Level Training in the Engine Department, Mechanical Specialty for Watchkeeping Engine Officer
Training course preparing for the Watchkeeping Engine Officer diploma, comprising 819 hours of instruction over 20 weeks.
Management-Level Training in the Engine Department, Mechanical Specialty for Second Engineer
Management-level training in the engine department for aspiring second mechanical engineers – 507 hours over 15 weeks, exam preparation and qualification for the diploma.
Training for Senior Deck Officer – Management Level
Intensive training preparing for the Senior Deck Officer – Management Level exam (671 h), scheduled 15 Sep 2025‑16 Jan 2026.
Complementary Training on Personal Safety and Shared Responsibility
Complementary training on preventing bullying and harassment in the maritime sector, mandatory from 1 January 2026.
