The Maritime University of Gdynia's Centre for Continuing Education operates one of the most modern simulator facilities in Europe. Our simulators meet the highest standards set by the STCW Convention and are used both in student education and specialist training for merchant fleet officers.
Deck Department Simulators
🚢 Full Mission Bridge Simulator
The 6th generation Kongsberg Polaris bridge simulator provides students and trainees with a realistic experience of conditions aboard a ship at sea. It is equipped with instrument panels identical to those found on merchant vessels.
Training is conducted using real-world areas: approach to Singapore, Malacca Strait, Dover Strait, approach to Europort, approach to Hong Kong. The instructor can modify hydromet parameters: wind, current, waves, meteorological conditions, time of day, and water depth.
🧭 Manoeuvring Simulator
The Nicolson manoeuvring simulator is an integrated bridge simulator designed primarily for navigation students, enabling practice of emergency, trial and rescue manoeuvres on various vessel types.
📍 Dynamic Positioning (DP) Simulator
Based on a genuine operational Kongsberg K-pos DP station and RCU-501 DP controllers. The operator station and DP controllers can be configured as dual-redundant Class 2 equipment.
🗺️ ECDIS Electronic Chart Simulator
Our latest simulator featuring eight bridge stations, each equipped with three monitors and a control panel. Enables comprehensive training in electronic chart display and information systems.
⚖️ Cargo Handling Simulator
The Kongsberg LCHS simulator is equipped with 5 different tanker models for transporting crude oil, chemicals and liquefied gases. Meets STCW Convention Regulation I/12 and Section B-I/12 requirements.
Engine Department Simulators
⚙️ Engine Room Simulator
Enables training of engine department officers in operating machinery installed in the engine room under both normal and emergency conditions. Two types of engine room can be simulated: medium-speed and slow-speed engines.
🔧 Engine Diagnostics Simulator
Additional training in operating auxiliary equipment and installations of the engine room. Consists of a set of computers with software enabling understanding of the principles and operation of systems installed in the engine room.
🤖 Automation Simulator
Modern merchant vessels cannot function properly without automation that integrates the operation of many devices. The simulator enables familiarisation with marine automation systems and their operation.
🔥 LPG Cargo Operations Simulator
Enables simulation of operations on an LPG carrier vessel. The entire simulation uses real liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Operations take place between two real tanks installed in the laboratory.
