Training at the management level in the engine department, mechanical specialty, intended for candidates for the Senior Marine Engineer diploma on ships of 3000 kW and above.

The course is offered in the following months: February, April, May, June, September, October, November.
Legal basis
Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure and Development of 8 September 2014 on qualification examinations and remuneration of examination board members.
Training goal
The course aims to prepare participants for the Senior Marine Engineer diploma exam and to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for managing the engine department on ships of 3000 kW and above.
- Familiarisation with current regulations and technical standards.
- Development of leadership and organisational competencies within the engine crew.
- Preparation for both practical and theoretical parts of the examination.
Requirements
Warunki przystąpienia
Aby uzyskać dyplom starszego oficera mechanika, należy spełnić jedną z poniższych grup wymagań:
- Grupa 1 (statki 750‑3000 kW):
- Dyplom drugiego oficera mechanika na statkach o mocy 750‑3000 kW,
- Co najmniej 18‑miesięczna praktyka pływania na statkach handlowych lub szkolnych o mocy ≥750 kW na stanowisku drugiego oficera mechanika,
- Ukończenie szkolenia MJE typu D na poziomie zarządzania w dziale maszynowym oraz zdanie egzaminu na tym poziomie,
- Alternatywnie – dyplom drugiego oficera mechanika na statkach ≥3000 kW oraz 12‑miesięczna praktyka pływania.
- Grupa 2 (statki ≥3000 kW):
- Dyplom drugiego oficera mechanika na statkach ≥3000 kW oraz 12‑miesięczna praktyka pływania (6 miesięcy może być zastąpione praktyką na stanowisku starszego oficera mechanika na statkach 750‑3000 kW),
- lub dyplom drugiego oficera mechanika ≥3000 kW, dyplom starszego oficera mechanika 750‑3000 kW oraz dodatkowa 6‑miesięczna praktyka pływania.
Wymóg ukończenia szkolenia i zdania egzaminu nie dotyczy osób posiadających zaświadczenie o ukończeniu szkolenia w jednostce edukacyjnej i zdanej egzaminu na poziomie zarządzania w dziale maszynowym.
Kandydat musi udokumentować 100 % wymaganego okresu praktyki pływania.
